Artist Statement & Bio

Aly Economou is a freelance artist and graphic designer born and raised near Seattle, Washington, USA. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in graphic design and with minors in Spanish and business. She is currently living in Madrid, Spain, pursing her masters in Formación Permanente en Artes y Profesiones Artísticas at UC3M-CBA.

Using light&shadow, line, color and movement Aly creates abstract works in order to explore the in-between moments, the unseen, and felt pieces of our reality. Her work encourages the viewer to open themselves to the depths of the world both around and within them. Her current body of work, "The Self", explores the depths of the self as an individual and as an inseparable part of our larger, global community.
